        Founded as the Institution of providing Employment, Relief and Religious Instruction for the Adult Deaf and Dumb in 1841. Queen Victoria became the Association's patron in 1876 and it became the Royal Association in Aid of the Deaf and Dumb. Name changed to the Royal Association in aid of Deaf People in 1986. Now the Royal Association for Deaf people.
