Scope and content
Letters (1806-1833) from Mary Babington to her father Thomas Babington, mainly written before her marriage to James Parker on 29 Jun 1829, but some written afterwards Two early letters may be in the hand of her sister Lydia, later Rose, one of which has a note from Lydia to her father. The letter of 24 July 1820 has a note from Mary's mother Jean, née Macaulay, to her husband Thomas.
Letter from Mary Babington to her brother William Henry Babington, 1824, containing verses about him by 'one of Susan Parker's brothers' [perhaps Mary's future husband James?].
Letter from Mary Babington to her uncle Colin Macaulay, July-Dec 1820, perhaps sent together in one letter. Letters from Mary Babington to her cousin Henry William Macaulay, 1823-1832, one with a note from her cousin Selina Macaulay to her brother Henry William (May 1829).
Letters from Mary to her cousin Margaret Cropper, née Macaulay, 1828-1831.
