Elizabeth Lucy Whateley, the daughter of John Welchman Whateley, was born in Birmingham on 3 June 1835. She married, firstly, Stephen Parkinson, tutor of St John's College, Cambridge, and, secondly (in 1893), Gerard Francis Cobb. She died on 27 October 1913.
