        Dimsdale died on 9 Feb. 1831 (Evening Standard, 11 Feb. 1831, p. 4). He is said to have owned about fifty ancient copies of Thomas à Kempis’s Imitation of Christ (The Albion and the Star, 14 Feb. 1833, p. 3).
