History
John Leigh Gregson was born on 23 April 1803 in Liverpool, the son of the antiquary Matthew Gregson. After attending Rugby School, he was admitted as a pensioner to Trinity College, Cambridge on 3 July 1822, aged 19. He matriculated in Michaelmas 1823. He died on 23 November 1824 after suffering from a rheumatic fever.
