Photograph showing a portion of the north side of Great Court, with the King Edward gate and College Chapel with the fountain in the centre, with a group of four men standing on the cobbles, three of them looking at the camera, and the other looking east. Three of the men wear aprons and the photograph appears to be a candid of men employed by the college. "Trinity College, Cambridge" is printed at lower left and on the verso "E3" is written in ink.

Photograph of the Great Gate taken close up, with the top of the gate not visible but showing the top of the niche for the statue of King Henry VIII. Both the gate and door in the Great Gate are open, with a view across to the Master's Lodge in Great Court, and a figure standing with his back to the camera in the middle of the court. Depicts drawn curtains over the Cipriani window, Grylls bookcases lining the sides of the library, two round tables in foreground, and smaller bookcases with lectern tops in the bays.
