Part of Papers of Robert Calverley Trevelyan and Elizabeth Trevelyan

Pen Rose, Berkhamsted. - Asks Bob what has happened about his book [his translation of Aeschylus's "Oresteia"]: ordered a copy from Hatchard's on 27 December as a Christmas present for a friend, but has just heard from them that it is not yet published: this is 'surely... quite mad'. If Bob has a spare copy, asks if he could send it and let her pay him. They [she and George] have 'both read it with the deepest excitement and think the translation is splendid'.

Part of Papers of Robert Calverley Trevelyan and Elizabeth Trevelyan

Pen Rose, Berkhamsted. - Thanks Bob for telling Hodder and Stoughton's to send her the book [his translation of Aeschylus's "Oresteia"], which arrived on Friday; sends a postal order for five shillings in payment. Will send this copy to Sir Rennell Rodd, and when she receives the copy from Hatchard's it will go to her father; they both know the "Agamemnon" 'by heart', which she fears she does not. The translation is 'really grand'.
