Wurzen - Thanks him for the second edition of 'The Golden Bough'; the students in Germany who have not had much access to worthwhile research in anthropology will benefit from this second edition; Wilhelm Mannhardt is not so lucky, and complains of the indifference of his peers to his research; is heartened by the success of Erwin Rohde's 'Psyche'; questions Frazer's interpretation of the legend of the death of the great Pan, which he has investigated in a classical philology journal in 1892, and regrets he does not have a copy of the article to send to Frazer.
