Loved his letter, will talk about Phil [?]'s plays, which are exciting, wants to go to Camberwell Green next summer to see the mermaid, described in Colburn's Calendar of Amusements. Baker, Todman & Co., Canada House, Norfolk Street, Strand, London, W.C.2. - Feels guilty he didn't wish him success, but was thrilled to read of his success on Broadway [of 'The Royal Hunt of the Sun'] and encloses a clipping from 'The Daily Telegraph'. Is leaving for Lisbon but his affairs are being attended to.

Thanks him for the book of plays; tells the news since they last met: his only son Giles died in Feb. 1971 after which he retired; finds London a place to be avoided though he still enjoys the theatre; doesn't miss work, but does miss Peter.
