Parte de Papers of Sir Peter Shaffer

Complains of the cold in New York, has just returned from Paris where he saw Polanski's 'Amadeus' in the form of a first run through in front of a huge audience; doesn't think much of the production and thinks his work will be called banal. Will start working on the script on Feb. 1 with Milos Forman out in the country.

[At top: Roman Polanski] - Gives the update on his production of 'Amadeus': by tonight 100,000 spectators will have seen the show, last Tuesday was our 100th performance; has been awarded 'Le Prix du Brigadier', encloses a list of the previous recipients [not present]; the production has evolved since PS saw the dress rehearsal; there are nightly ovations, and he has managed to free himself from directorial duties and focus on Wolfgang.
