New York, N.Y. 10002 - Understands the Shubert Organization is negotiating with Vanessa Redgrave for the starring role in 'Lettice and Lovage' and says she 'is an avowed and ardent supporter of the terrorist Palestine Liberation Organization, and its leader, Yassir Arafat'; as avid theatre goers they would boycott the show and would join in organized efforts to thwart the play's success; thinks he should not associate the Shubert Organization's name with hers; ends 'Because of the nature of this letter, I've decided not to sign my name, although I feel uncomfortable not doing so.'

The New York Times, 229 West 43 Street, New York, N.Y. 10036 - Thanks him for his note, was pleased to read his memoir about [Tennessee] Williams in the 'Orpheus [Descending]' program, and hopes he sees the show, he left feeling justice had been served; exhilarated that [Peter] Hall and [Vanessa] Redgrave 'took on a play no American has had the guts to tackle in 30 years'.
