Torquay - When AC founded a fellowship in geology at Oxford she also gave them a collection of Devonshire fossils made by a friend of hers - Mr Pengelly [William Pengelly?]. His son is anxious to enter Oxford and try 'to gain my scholarship'. It seems a mistake has been made with the application and Pengelly's son will not be going there. If this be the case could WW recommend a Cambridge College to apply to.
