Manchester - WH is highly gratified by the manner in which WW estimates the claim of Manchester to stand next in succession to Oxford for the BAAS meeting. He communicated the contents of WW's letter to John Dalton. One problem will be accommodation - the Society building is too small. The only suitable place would be the theatre at the Royal Institution which can accommodate 700 people. At 'present we have not in the town any thing in the way of a suite of rooms, adapted for the various committees and public meetings of such a body'.
