Taylor Day' by Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Stanford University, in honour of Taylor's 85th birthday, etc.
Correspondence January-April 1971 refers to the novel A Random State by Thomas McMahon, which Van Dyke drew to Taylor's attention as conveying misleading but identifiable pictures of Taylor and other distinguished scientists who worked at Los Alamos on aspects of the atomic bomb project. Taylor complained to the publishers of the English edition (Macmillan) and received apologies from them and from the author.
