Merrow, Guildford - RCH left Birmingham for Merrow just as WW's letter arrived. He heard from his cousin William Twopeny that WW had agreed to help in the design for erecting a monument to Thomas Rickman. WW's name will be added to a Committee composed of Rickman's friends and supporters of Gothic architecture. Rickman did not leave his family much money to live off. Apparently the bone of his skull had become so thin that it had nearly worn through - the surgeon told RCH that this invariably occurred to persons of great mental application. RCH has been asked to produce a memoir of Rickman's life and would appreciate any details WW can give.
