Knight's correspondence 1941-1942 is from the Lister Institute (then at Elstree, Hertfordshire) and 1950 correspondence from the Wellcome Research Laboratories, Beckenham. He subsequently established the Department of Microbiology at the University of Reading where he was Professor.

Includes manuscript draft obituary by Synge.
