No. 1 Hospital Ship — Has been ordered to proceed to New Zealand with a ship of sick and wounded, despite him feeling it is a waste of money and a well equipped ship.

No. 1 Hospital Ship, The High Seas — The total amount he collected for the Anaesthetic Emergency Fund was around £2500, much more than expected. Heard Hospitals are being taken over by the government and therefore would not require further fundraising. The Maheno was initially to travel from Alexandria to Southampton, but was later diverted to assist wounded soldiers, who they have been transporting around.
33 Hobson Street, Wellington, New Zealand — Dr Collins is on the hospital ship 'Maheno'. Mr Twentyman offered £3 to the Anaesthetics Emergency Fund. Is proud of New Zealand fighters, but upset about the situation in Gallipolli. Had lunch with the Hon. Dr Pomare on the S.S. Arawa.
32 Hobson Street — Will left on the hospital ship before the letter arrived, but she will send him a copy. The Fund has been closed. In total, £2520 will have been sent. Babs will be married on 12 August in India.
His sister Gwenny has been approached as their successor, but probably won't take the role. The cheque accidentally included a sum that was already paid. Approaching the papers about the New Zealand donation is unnecessary. Agrees funds should not be sent to Serbia, but to France, with some kept for the Dardanelles when requested by New Zealand.

32 Hobson Street, Wellington - Pleased the Committee is satisfied. The money has slowed as people are subscribing to the 'fund for the relief of the wounded'. The total amount sent is about £2000. A medical journal indicated the government took over the small hospitals. David doing much better.
Dr Collins cabled another £1040. Has thanked him and sent a cutting of the letter in the Morning Post. Wonders when their successor will be appointed.
