Gentlemen /

Your letter was sent after me into the country, & missing me, I only received it upon my return to town—

I have every reason to believe that the account standing in my Fathers {1} name will be very shortly settled

Friday May 6th

Gentlemen /

The note for the payment of the remainder of my Fathers overdrawn account is due on the 10th—I have no means of paying it (without borrowing the money) untill the 25th of June—till which day I am ready to pay interest for it at 5 per Cent from the 10th the day it becomes due—

I will be obliged to you to let me have an answer to know whether you accede to this arrangement—
