Part of Papers of Robert Calverley Trevelyan and Elizabeth Trevelyan

Wallington, Cambo, Northumberland. - Thanks for Robert's care and promptness. Sorry that it is so hot in town; at Wallington, the weather is ideal for their 'eminent visitors' who all seem happy. The American ambassador [Thomas Bayard] and his wife came up by night. Is 'reluctantly enjoying the idleness of entertaining company'. Charles left two cartridges on his plate yesterday to show there was 'no black game in the larder', then went out and 'got three young cocks and a hare'.
