21 Carlton Terrace, S. W. - Thanks for curious Marat book; date of second letter of Lord Lyttelton on p. 57 [of the Philobiblon Miscellanies] should be 1773 instead of 1783.

Fryston. - Now thinks article unsuitable for Philobiblon Society, but would like sixty copies printed for himself as it is typeset; a proof of the [Marat?] letter should be sent to Upper Brook Street on Saturday 20th.

Newcastle. - Acknowledges letter and copy of Tract; encloses newspaper communications which led Mr Merivale to mention him; also encloses verses [no longer present]. Enclosures: Cuttings from unidentified Newcastle paper, 'Leaf for the Local Historian', Nos 21 and 22, on Jean Paul Marat; 1 cutting, objecting to penalties incurred by Alfred Bougeart and others and in France over publication of a biography of Marat [perhaps from The Times].

On the spine is stamped ‘Lettre Originale de Marat 1783.’
