Barskimming, Mauchline, Ayrshire. Dated 18th February - Encloses a letter [transcribed] and newspaper report [not transcribed]; her correspondent MacKenzie, is the Sheriff substitute at Kilmarnoch; has she heard the Miss Browns of Portdarroch[?] have inherited money from a cousin.

The letter enclosed, from David J. MacKenzie in Barassie, Troon, Ayrshire to Miss Anderson is about the old ceremony of 'Up-Hally-a' in Shetland.
