Dear Mr Montagu

Its most nice of you to ask me to dine to meet Mr Runciman. Alas! Alack! I am afraid I cant as I am already dining out that evening. Its very sad and I wish very much I could chuck the other. Thank you so much.

I liked Vinters very much too. I must write a Collins to Olive for it.

Yours sincerely

My dear Mr Montagu

Can you also on Wednesday come to the Russian Dancers after lunch. Do come. I am sure your Guadalquivir(?) {1} pair could be got to start from that moment instead of a little later.

I am still havering between Alderley, London, and Olive for this Sunday.

Yours
Venetia Stanley

I stupidly forgot when I said I would be in to tea tomorrow after seeing Olive off, that I had already arranged to play tennis with Cynthia from 4 till 5, and at 5.30 I’ve got the Gnome. Could you come either Wednesday 6.30 or Thursday at 6? Let me know which, if either, of these fit in with your other many and complicated plans.

Violet and I had a very useful morning, owing to the invaluable assistance that was given us by the motor. Thank you so much.
