Quite true that Broughton's friend Charles [Skinner] Matthews compared Robert Pemberton Milnes to 'the admirable [James] Crichton - referring to his intellectual power & his physical energy & agility'; this was said on seeing Milnes 'jump over a very high gate hunting'.
