Tartarus, off Tarbert, cove of Cork, addressed to Mary Lake at 144 Pread [Praed] Street, Paddington, London. - Received her letter with the money order; thinks she had better go to Woolich [Woolwich] and ask Mr Robinson to direct her to Mr [?] Vening. He is well and hopes she is too; they are just waiting for another ship to come then they are going to Cork.
South Metropolitan District School, Sutton, Surrey. - Has been ill with the fever but is getting better now; will be down soon; is very glad her mother is coming down to see her. Has 'mutton and beer and I shall soon get strong again'. Ends with many kisses.
Note on last page of letter asks Mrs Beckett to give this letter to her mother; sends love to her and her son.
