The finished drawing is inscribed at top "To Alternative Richard Vane, the sole begetter" above the title of the ball, "The Other Glorious Twelfth." The verso of the sketch has instructions for wording to be added to the finished drawing announcing musical acts booked, as well as an instruction to add the words, "This show is put on by the man who promised Panem et Circenses."
