19 Lowndes Sq[uare]. - Appointment offered is more suitable for the younger brother John [Kortright], but he is less refined than his older brother; 'he lost one good place by his own fault'; is intelligent but rather forward in manner; not suitable for the Geographical secretaryship; Governor Mathew must be informed if John is appointed instead.
