Would have recommended Milnes' friends for invitations to the Palace Ball on July 5th, but it is oversubscribed as a third ball has been cancelled owing to the recent death in the Royal Family; does not enjoy them himself; he and Lady Spencer socialise very little but hope Milnes will repeat last year's visit to Althorp.
