Pontefract. - Decrease in professional income owing to misrepresentation of views of sanitary matters; they simply echo those of Dr Trench; supported entirely by younger son during recent illness; local opposition to sanitary measures as injurious to medical business; 'On one occasion a Medical man here said to me- 'for God's sake do not you deodorise Pontefract, for God Knows we are poor Enough & need all we can get'.
