Halverstown, Kilcullen. - Went to Glendalough yesterday, 'escorted' by FitzGerald's brother [Peter]. 'All Ireland seems as if it flung its arms open to receive me; in Dublin I really was like to be done to death by the civilities of men... Your Kinsfolk here have welcomed me as if I had been their own Brother...' Sets off for the west of Ireland this afternoon. Hopes for this year's potato harvest.
