Part of Papers of Richard Monckton Milnes, Lord Houghton
Bawtry, sent to Milnes at Bawtry Hall. - Glad to learn from a visit to the Hall and a message sent by Miss F. Monckton yesterday that Milnes's sister is 'rather better'; hopes that God will 'eleviate [sic] his late sudden & afflicting visitation by her gradual recovery'; she has been remembered in Rose's 'private & family prayers' and by the parish. Will be at Finningley this morning to 'take Mr Woodhouse's duty, in consequence of the death of his youngest child', while 'Mr Parkinson, Mr Smith's late Curate at [K]Nottingley', will take the service at Bawtry; wishes to know if Milnes 'would like the Prayers of the Congregation to day, in the same manner as last Sunday'.
