Feldhausen near Wynberg - JH would like to begin a work 'towards the inductive construction of a system of ethicks. I think there is room for such a work and that it is wanted'. He describes his trip to the mountains on the other side of the Cape flats: 'The scenery is wild and grand'. He can hardly believe the difference in climate in successive years in the same place.
