      Born 12 April 1869 at Blackheath, Kent, the son of the Rev. Frederick Edward and Agnes Jones. Attended Haileybury and went up to Trinity in Michaelmas 1888. B.A. 1891, M.A. 1901, admitted to the Middle Temple, 1893. Assistant Master at Orley Farm School, Harrow; at Forest School, Walthamstow, 1894-9; at Cheltenham College, 1899-1909; at Uppingham School, 1909-31. Served in World War I, 1914-19 (Hon. Major, General List (T.F. Res.); T.D.). Died Feb. 6, 1946, at Uppingham.
