Scope and content
56 Wilhelm Strasse, Berlin. - Will Milnes intercede with Lord Lincoln as appointments are being made; also has support of friends in Ireland and a strong letter from von Humboldt; will come over shortly to importune those who have not given support to 'one of the Martyrs of Science'; desires to know 'whether you would wish me to obtain for you or any of your more particular enemies an estate or two in Gallicia, as I think I could do something with the Austrian Molly Maguires. There are, however, still upwards of 17 out of 900 landed proprietors alive'.
