My dear Miss Stanley
I have had it on my conscience that I have not written an answer to two letters of yours {1}. I do so now but only a line to thank you for them and to say how I enjoyed them and wanted them.
I am looking forward heaps to coming to Alderley and will come as soon as I can.
I should enjoy the tenants dance much but the other dance is not likely to be much the better for my lugubrious dancing presence.
Geewiz I am bored of this day. I’ve had to see all sorts of newspaper men. I liked the Daily Mail most because he was just like the paper and horrible.
I also am bored of this session.
It was fun to see you the other day in the train. We did not have a very good weekend—it would have been bad if it were not for Geoffrey—whom I love.
If you want to add to all my obligations you will forgive this scrappy letter and write to me anything!
Yrs
