Scope and content
Leckhampton House, Cambridge. - Thanks writer for her letter, it is 'a true satisfaction to hear that a French lady feels able to agree with, & not to resent, my mode of dealing with the spiritual maladies of France'. Has received a letter from Professor Richet to the same effect; hopes he has shown 'how entirely I regard your dangers as ours - dangers in fact for all civilisation'. Has 'great hopes' of the psychical research of which he encloses a programme; does not suppose she has read Phantasms of the Living, but if she does 'I think you will find that the old problems have had some fresh light thrown on them'. It would be very welcome if she could help them 'in getting hold of some similar cases of apparitions at death in France'. Is sometimes in Paris, and should she wish it would be a pleasure to call on her or to introduce her 'to one or two other persons who feel that this direction is the one to work in'.
