53 Long Acre, London. - Appealing to Milnes' intellect and generosity; family in Germany is known to the Princess of Baden, now Marchioness of Douglas, who has assisted him in the past; failed as printer of libretti owing to competition; must now sacrifice pride to seek relief from poverty. Enclosures: letter in German, 13 Nov. 1850, from F. Funck to H. N. Millar - acknowledges letter of 12th on behalf of the Princess, who does not at present recognise him, asks to which Millar family in Karlsruhe he belongs; note by Frances, Baroness von Bunsen.
