Scope and content

Heathercliffe, Goodeve Road, Sneyd Park, Bristol.—(24th.) Has applied for a commission. Refers to visits to Bath, the cinema, and Bristol Cathedral. Last week was strenuous, as they have all had drill before going to work, and he himself has sometimes had additional drill and instruction to prepare him for his new unit. They have had no air-raids recently, but a serious raid is now underway. The cathedral is said to have been destroyed.—(25th.) ‘So far as I can gather the Cathedral was not hit. 20 of us spent last night assisting the fire services in putting out the numerous fires.’ Is glad the Nepalese are settling in.
