        History

        Born 15 Oct. 1888 in Edgbaston. Attended Leighton Park School, and was admitted to Trinity College on 25 June 1907 as a pensioner. He received his B.A. in 1910. He served as Lieutenant, Royal Field Artillery, ‘C’ Battery, 78th Brigade, and was awarded the Military Cross. He was killed in action Aug 4 1916 and is buried in Dartmoor Cemetery, Bécordel-Bécourt, Somme, France.
