      Printed, as ‘Verses on the Marriage of the Honourable Miss Elizabeth Sackville to Colonel Herbert. By Richard Cumberland, Esq.’, in The New Foundling Hospital for Wit (1784 ed.), vol. i, pp. 106–8. Reprinted several times. Elizabeth Sackville and Henry Arthur Herbert were married in the chapel of Drayton House in Northamptonshire on 28 October 1781. Cumberland was a close associate of the bride’s father, Lord George Germain, and probably attended the wedding.
