Biographical history
Ginsburg was born on 25 December 1831, but the ODNB mistakenly gives the year of his birth as 1821. The censuses for 1861, 1871, 1881, 1891, 1901, and 1911 give his age as 30, 40, 50, 60, 69, and 79 respectively, and the year of his birth is given correctly in the Jewish Encyclopedia and The Times.
