Immediate source of acquisition or transfer

A diary of Charles James Monk's European tour in 1847-1848, with a journal by him for 1843-1844, were given to the Library by Dr Henry A. Sanford in February 1998. The rest of the collection was a gift from Dr Sanford in October 2001.
