Duplicated typescript with Shaffer's note on the title page in pencil: "The original play as given to the National Theatre in 1979, and read on the first day of rehearsal." With Shaffer's emendations in pencil throughout and emendations in pen in an unidentified hand, as well as several pages headed "Re-write" and carrying dates from 6-12 September 1979. Next to the title is "13" in green marker.
