History
James Turner Powell was the son of Dawson Turner's sister Elizabeth and her husband Philip Lewis Powell. He was baptised at Old Buckenham, Norfolk, on 10 October 1802 (parish register). The censuses record that he was employed in the Paymaster General's Office, where he eventually became a superintendent. He died at Brighton on 12 July 1885 (National Probate Calendar).
