System of arrangement

This class, like the others, represents the contents of one of the archival boxes into which the papers were put on their arrival in the Library. 3a, 13a, 34a, 38a, 60a, 62a-b, 69a-d, and 116a were omitted from the original numbering of the papers. These are all envelopes, folders, or notes by Vera Brittain, who used at least some of these documents in preparing her biography of Lord Pethick-Lawrence. The correspondence derives, like PETH 1-3, from the Pethick-Lawrences’ numbered correspondence files.
