Historique
Thomas Shelford was born at Thetford on 11 March 1792, the eldest son of Reverend Leonard Shelford, Rector of Tuddenham. He was admitted to Corpus Christi on 30 December 1809 as a pensioner, later becoming a scholar (1810) and Bell scholar (1811). He graduated B.A. in 1814, being the 6th Wrangler, before proceeding M.A. in 1817 and B.D. in 1825. He became a fellow of the college in 1814 and served as bursar. From 1840-46 he was Rector of Lambourne in Essex.
