There are three figures labelled respectively ‘CWKPATHC’ (Socrates), ‘ΘEAITHTOC’ (Theaitetos), ‘ΘEWΔWTOC’ (Theodoros), of whom the first is sitting with a long clay pipe in his hand and winking at the second, who is crouching on stool. The third is in the background facing away.

The sketch is dated ‘July. 62.’, but a later hand has written ‘(? 63)’ above the figures in pencil.
