Scope and content
Including a letter from War Office, 6 August 1914 (this reads: 'Captain Paine came in just after you left and tells me that you have considerable experience in scientific instruments - you could probably help us a good deal at the Royal Aircraft Factory [renamed Royal Aircraft Establishment from April 1918] where there is plenty of very interesting scientific work going on'), Taylor's Commission in Royal Flying Corps, 1915, particulars of his training as pilot, 'but has not passed in Gunnery, or in Certificate A', 1917, letter of demobilisation, with rank of Major, 1920. Included here is a MS copy of a poem by Ivor Gurney 'To Certain Comrades (E. S. and J. H.)' (not in Taylor's hand).
