History
Harry Ashton was born in Bury, Lancashire, on 31 January 1882 and baptised on 12 March. He emigrated to Canada, probably in 1915, where he became Professor of French and Head of the Modern Language Department at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. He died at Vancouver on 12 July 1952.
