Scope and content
Explains that she only received Nora's letter on her return from Berlin, 'some weeks after it was written.' Reports that the business matter she had written about in relation to Gertrude Dixon 'had meanwhile settled itself.' Claims that she cannot offer 'commonplace condolences' on the death of Henry Sidgwick, who, she claims. '[i]n the breaking up of old foundations of morals' made her certain 'that personal holiness was still possible.'
