B/232 includes correspondence from C. C. Daniels and F. Martin inviting the Thomsons to stay at their home in Indre et Loire, France during the Easter break, 11-12 February 1908.

B/270 includes correspondence and press cuttings re the Annual Meeting of the British Association for the Advancement of Science, which was held at the University of Manitoba, Winnipeg, Canada. Includes press cuttings re J.J. Thomson's presidential address, which opened the conference proceedings, 21-31 August 1909.

Lady Thomson stayed in Winnipeg with her husband, son and brother-in-law during the Conference. She wrote an account of her journey for the Empire Review. They returned to England in October 1909.

J .H. Batty was Lady Thomson's brother-in-law. He married Lady Thomson's twin sister Violet in 1902. Includes correspondence re ‘investments'.

Correspondence to Lady Thomson re her son G. P. Thomson's welfare on leaving England to join the front line in France. He returned to England in February 1915.
